Accuweather Alert: The Chicago weather forecast today includes the chance of strong to heavy storms, with wind risk, fall floods


Chicago (WLS) – On Saturday there is a chance of strong to heavy storms.

The area of Chicago is currently under a risk of storm at level 2, said ABC7 Chicago meteorologists.

A floor stop was issued for flights that arrived at Midway and O'Hare at 11:20 a.m.

The storms are currently predicted that it will switch from west to east between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

A second chance of isolated storms is possible from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Hearing wind gusts are the main concern and the potential for flood floods on the streets.

The storms will be able to cause damage to trees, powerlines and buildings, said ABC7 Chicago meteorologist.

Insolated rain and storms for the southern counties in the region are possible on Sunday.

On Wednesday, strong storms moved through the area and knocked down trees and power lines.
