Why Michael Bisping is sure that Paulo Costa loses against Roman Kopylov

Why Michael Bisping is sure that Paulo Costa loses against Roman Kopylov

Michael Bisping does not see how Paulo Costa bounces off at UFC 318.

Costa (14-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) will take an increasing Römer-Kopylov (14-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC) on a rising Römer-Kopylov (6-3 UFC) in the Smoothie King Center in New Oresans on Saturday (ESPN+ Pay-Per-View, ESPN+) in New Oresans.

The former title challenger has lost four of his last five and questions his way of thinking.

“Mr. Inconsistent, Paulo Costa, 'Borrachinha', who somehow turned into a mem,” said Bisping on his YouTube channel. “He is a very funny guy that follows on social media. Some of the things he posts are absolutely funny.

Bisping believes that Costa has not fought for its potential – and it is not because of a lack of skill.

“The reason why he loses is that it appears like a mental block,” said Bisping. “In this struggle he has to bite his mouthpiece. He has to go in Roman Kopylov because Kopylov is younger, he is faster, he is bigger, he is on a role, he has Knockout force and he is not afraid to mix it.

“Against Sean Strickland, Costa simply did not do enough. He had Strickland checked the fight with just the shock. Strickland didn't really do much. It wasn't exactly a barnburner of a fight, but Paulo Costa is his worst enemy, physically, he is very talented.”

Kopylov won six of his last seven fights and ended five of these fights – most recently a head kick by Chris Curtis at UFC Fight Night 249. With the difference in the impulse between Kopylov and Costa, Bisping made a final forecast.

“The man is a finisher – he has 14 wins, 12 placements, everything through Knockout,” Bisping said about Kopylov. “I am not sure if he is going to Paulo Costa, but I am very confident that he will do the job.”
