The stories in the second half in the second half, starting with the trading period

In general, the Giants are exactly where they have been forecast. They fight, but they don't run away with a post -season. You are a team that has difficulty getting runs, but you can win because you prevent them. Read all of this in March and he nods with his head with every word. Yes, all of this seems to be right.

However, the details are really surprising, very quickly. Robbie Ray is not the most unexpected all-star out there, but it could be Randy Rodríguez? Logan Webb is now striking strokes, but Justin is fighting and the Giants rely on two newcomers in the rotation. And have you seen this business that Rafael -Devers are now in a team? Wild, wild stuff.

Here are three storylines that shape the team in the second half. Note that it was tempting to repeat the first for all three storylines. It would not have been wrong.

Where do the runs come from?

Everything will start with devers … assumed that it is healthy. The new DH (and the future first Baseman of Giants at some point?) Is dealing with a variety of physical complaints, including the tightness in its back and the groin area. The injuries could explain why Christian Koss, Sam Huff and Brett's devers have been carefully exceeded since entering the Giants, but they do not change the overall recipe for the team. You need Devers from Outslug Koss et al. You will need it to exceed most rackets in the NL if you exploit your potential.

The Giants feel better than since the deed trade, now that Matt Chapman has returned from an injury and the line -up approaches something that approaches full strength. However, you still need a lot more consistency. Between Devers, Chapman, Heliot Ramos and Willy Adames, the Giants All-Star potential hinters have four of their nine installations, and they hope for further production of Jung Hoo Lee in April. There is the possibility that the runs are already there, at least on paper. Everyone just has to meet at the same time. Heck, maybe only two of them could hit at the same time. A revolutionary concept to be safe.

The help probably does not come from the organization. Jerar Encarnacíon's catastrophic season could still be partially recovered when he returns from an injury, but he looked wild and excessively aggressive when he was briefly with the team. Bryce Eldridge was on the IL for Triple-A Sacramento and used the Giants' Complex in Arizona in Arizona, but he seems to be an unlikely solution. Marco Luciano had a decent time of strength, but a miserable time that contacts Sacramento.

Casey Schmitt has the chance to take the second job in the next few weeks, and everything he has to do is even a little to meet. If he can, he could simply hold the position for a few years.

How far will the giants push their young starters?

Hayden BirdSong did not throw any strikes in his last starts, so it seems that its rotational center is the wobbleest, but both he and Roupp have to be monitored in the second half. Birdsong has thrown 65 2/3 innings this year, and his career in Innings as a professional was 100 2/3, which he was in 2023, his first full season as a professional. When the autumn months grow long, the Giants can skip the birdsongs starts or at least place more space between them.

Roupp (26) is not as young as Birdsong (23), but he also has a limited story when it is stretched out. He is currently at 96 1/3 Innings, with his career in 2022 – the only time he threw 100 innings as a professional. Since the beginning of May, Roupp 13 starts with an ERA of 2.44 ERA (3.55 FIP) has achieved, and he was one of the more reliable jugs in the staff, so that the plan may be to keep the status quo and listen carefully.

The same question could be asked after the most experienced starter of the Giants, hinges. The problem is less about his workload and more about its effectiveness – while in his last start of the first half he looked like his old himself, he was the least effective starting jug in the rotation, and it has not been around Jordan Hicks. He will continue to start, and it is not as if he is still pitting for his job, but the plan has not yet worked, and there will be eye apples for him until this is the case.

What will the giants make a trade closure?

You could look for ways to achieve more runs. And you could seek help for your young starter.

The Giants have already done one of the most important business in franchise history and are almost certainly done with the mega trades. However, you will still look for smaller offers to patch the squad, with pitchers and hits both destinations. Before Erik Miller went to the IL, there was a clear need for left -handers. Dominic Smith published the Giants from the first base place more than Lamonte Wade Jr., but that doesn't say much. The plan is supposed to be able to get out there when it feels comfortable, but when the right first Baseman is available, they stand open to the idea.

It was only a few months ago when the Giants in the rotation could not find a place for Kyle Harrison and Birdsong, but now it would be not a bad idea to get a solid No. 3 behind Webb and Ray. Another starter would take pressure and Roupp equally pressure and help the younger jugs to overcome their career in Innings.

However, that would be a distant third priority, since the top priority of the Giants, apart from left -handed people, will improve a lifeless offense. You have already provided you with the most aggressive trade, and Devers will become a solution instead of part of the problem. However, you could use more depth in the line -up, which would help to buff some of the inevitable burglaries in the middle of the order.
