The police examined the death of a man after moving to a magnetic resonance machine (MRI) at the beginning of this week.

The 61-year-old man wore a “large metallic chain” when he entered an MRI room at the Nassau Open MRI in Westbury on Wednesday in Westbury, NY, while a scan was underway, the police authority from Nassau County said.

The chain initiated the man “pulled into the machine, which led to a medical episode,” and he died of his injuries the next day, the police said.

NPR made a comment to Nassau Open MRI in Westbury on Saturday, but received no answer.

An MRI scan can create a “strong, static magnetic field” that causes physical dangers. says The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which regulates MRI security. This can attract and attract magnetic objects such as mobile phones, keys and oxygen tanks that can violate patients and medical specialists if they become projectile, according to the agency.

“Careful screening of people and objects that enter the MR environment is crucial to ensure that nothing enters into the magnetic area that can become a projectile,” said the FDA.
