Pageland Watermelon Festival canceled after shooting, teen death – woco TV

Pagelann, SC – a teenager was shot at the Pageland Watermelon Festival on Friday evening.

The Paland police published an explanation early Saturday morning and announced that a 17-year-old was shot at the Watermelon Festival on Friday evening.

“Our hearts go to the family and the relatives of the young individual, whose life was tragically lost,” said the Paland police chief. “This is a heartbreaking event that has a strong impact on our entire community.”

All festival goers were sent home after the incident.

The police said that the law enforcement department in South Carolina examines the shootout.

The city of Pageland canceled the Watermelon Festival. The city released the following explanation:

“We announce with deep sadness that all remaining events for the Watermelon Festival were canceled in view of the tragic incident on Friday evening.

“Out of respect for the victim and his family, we believe that this is the most suitable approach. Our hearts and prayers are with all those who are affected by this senseless act of violence.

“We thank our community for your understanding and ask everyone to continue to support each other in this difficult time.
