Investigation according to SAS identities that are leaked into a new violation of each other

Investigation according to SAS identities that are leaked into a new violation of each other

The army has initiated an investigation after the names of the SAS staff, which was designed from one of the most highly ranking regiments, were published despite repeated warnings.

General Sir Roly Walker, head of the army, ordered the investigation after they found details of the soldiers recruited by the Grenadier Guards for special forces who had been publicly available online for a decade. John Healey, the Minister of Defense, is said to be “angry”.

Walker said: “The security of our people is of the greatest importance and we take every violation very seriously.” He said that he had “directed an immediate review of the” data exchange arrangements “that would have led to the incident.

The disclosure comes days after the Ministry of Defense that an official had accidentally spread the names of SAS members and MI6 employees in a table that also contained the details Thousands of Afghans who had requested a refuge in Great Britain after the withdrawal of the western armed forces in 2021. The government had used a super injunction to keep the information secret for 18 months until last week.

Historically, it has refused to comment on the Elite -Sas at all, citing national security. The ministers previously used the courts to block the publication of basic information about SAS missions in the Middle East, while their members are excluded for life if they discuss their participation in the force, unless they receive prior approval.

However, it can be known that a Grenadier guardian contained a roller call of the names and the current deployments of its leaders for a decade. Some were or are bound to the British special units. In the edition published and available online last year, the names of ten men in the regiment appeared in addition to the code name “MAB” – Short President for Mod a Block, the location of the British Special Forces headquarters in the parking bar of the Regent's Park in London.

The code name is available online and is generally known in military circles. This means that every group of terrorists or enemy state could find out that the soldiers either serve in an elite unit or were connected to an elite unit.

The Sunday Times first reported on the security gaps in April, but did not name the regiment in order to protect the identity of soldiers and to give the civil servants to act. While another regiment removed similar publications from the public, the guards did not. The information was finally deleted when the mod was contacted again on Friday. At least 20 SAS members were named by the two regimental publications over more than a decade.

Healey spoke to Walker, who commanded the guards in 2009, about the incident.

The internal publication of 2024 also contained information about guards that were used for the National Security Secretariat of the cabinet – a team that includes military and intelligence staff who advises the prime minister.

A soldier who served in the personal team of Walker was also named. At that time, Walker was the deputy head of the defense employee, who was responsible for military strategy and operations.

The document that contained the information is created by the Grenadier Guards Regimental Association – a non -profit company that consists of former service members. Such associations are routinely information about active employees and the activities of the responsible regiment to support their activities.

Walker said: “As a result of this incident, I have directed an immediate review in our data exchange agreements with our regimental and corps associations to ensure that there are appropriate instructions and protective measures to best support the important work that you do.”

Defense officers said that the Guards Association was instructed to remove all sensitive information, since it originally only deleted part of the insulting material. It was also excluded from the distribution of hard copies of the publication.
