Justin Gaethje offers the title fight -update after threat to retirement … 'someone has to fight it against him this year.'

The former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion Justin Gaethje remains determined by his attitude towards a lightweight title fight against Ilia Topuria.

At UFC 317 on June 29, Ilia Topuria became the new lightweight champion when he vulnerably wiped Charles Oliveira in the first round and joined a list of elite names to become a champion in two weight classes.

Immediately after the fight, a controversy occurred when Topuria was faced with his potential next opponent when Paddy Pimblett stormed the cage for a spontaneous face.

Nevertheless, UFC boss Dana White explained his frustration about the situation after the event and claimed that Pimblett should not have been called in the cage, as this is not the fight.

Justin Gaethje offers the title fight update after retirement ultimatum

Before the UFC 317 Main Event, the former preliminary lightweight champion Justin Gaethje shared his attitude towards the situation and dismissed his frustration after he was not selected.

And this made the UFC veteran an extremely brave claim that he will officially withdraw from sport when he received a title shot in his next fight.

“El Matador” played the highlight as a potential next opponent and claimed that he was not interested in fighting against him, which is not good for Gaethje.

Not only that, but also Dana White Flehte that Gaethje should retire if he is already considering.

Nevertheless, Gaethje entered the ceremonial weighing the stage this Saturday in order to answer some questions from the media and some fans.

After Gaethje was asked what would come next for him, he said: “I or Arman (Tsarukyan), I think someone has to fight someone (Topuria) this year and I think I'm in a better place than Arman, so someone has to fight him.

“I hope it is in Madison Square Garden, New York City, I can fight him and then I can defend it on the lawn of the White House.”

Since Donald Trump made an amazing announcement a few weeks ago that he will organize a UFC event in the White House, almost every fighter on the squad has thrown their name in the hat to take part in the event.
