The deputy also said in the report that the officials could not “locate the firearm because they were not near the deceased place”.

After the incident, the deputy medical doctor Dewitt Phillip warned the families to “secure” their “firearms”, especially when children in the house are in the house.

“Children get them and they don't think,” said Phillip. “They see away and everyone gets up. We need people who secure them so that we do not make these children dead. Don't let them play with them because they just don't understand.”

“I worked so many of them and it is not easy and it never gets easier for us,” added Phillip. “The families have to live with it, but the forensic doctors do it too.”
