Saudi Prince Al-Waleed Bin Khaled Bin Talal Al Saud, known as “Sleeping Prince”, died in a coma after two decades. He was 36.

On Saturday, July 19, the father of the prince, Prince Khaled bin Talal Al Saud-a well-known Saudi royal and nephew of the billionaire Prince al Waleed bin Talal-known that his son died in a medical facility in Saudi Arabia.

“With the hearts of Allah Will and Decree and with deep grief and sadness, we mourn our beloved son: Prince al-Waleed bin Khaled bin Abdulaziz al Saud, may Allah garnish who has died today,” wrote the mourning father in Arabic on X.

In addition to a black and white photo of his son, who lies in a hospital bed with their eyes closed, Prince Khaled added that the funeral service would take place on Sunday, July 20.

Prince Al-Waleed, born in April 1990, which was called nickname Dede by his family, was injured in a car accident in 2005 Mirror. He was 15 years old at the time.

The prince suffered several severe brain injuries and inner bleeding and finally fell into a coma. Later he was brought to the medical city of King Abdulaziz in the Saudi city of Riad, where he remained in a coma until his death.

In the two decades in which Al-Waleed was in a coma, his father decided to keep him on life support, and often shared social media film material from himself and other family members who pray for his son's recovery.

Some of Khaled's posts over the years became viral and collected millions of prospects when he prayed for his son and continued to celebrate special occasions by decorating the prince's hospital room for public holidays, including Ramadan, Eid and Saudi National Day.

Al-Waleed has never regained full consciousness, but his father often shared film material of his small physical reactions, such as: B. hands and fingers.
