Download no fake traffic Challan -APKs from WhatsApp groups, warns TGCSB boss Shikha Goel

Hyderabad: Cybercriminal have developed a new method by sending fake traffic -challan -apk files via WhatsApp groups, warned Shikha Goel, director of Telangana Cyber Security Bureau.

Dangerous APK links are sent

According to the office, fraudsters are referred to in circulating links, which are referred to as the “RTO traffic prosecutor”. If someone downloads and installs these APK files (Android package) files, your entire phone is controlled by cybercriminals.

Bank and credit card details in danger

As soon as the malignant app is installed, fraudsters can steal bank and credit card information, carry out remote transactions and carry out money from bank accounts and credit cards from siphon money without the knowledge of the user.

You can even block SMS warnings related to financial transactions to avoid detection.

Only download apps from Google Play Store

Shikha Goel asked the citizens not to download APK files that were received by unknown WhatsApp numbers. She advised that apps should only be installed in the Google Play Store and that users enable OTP options for all credit card transactions to prevent the non -authorized use.

Report suspicious activities immediately

People are also advised to block their cards immediately in the event of a suspicious activity. Victims of such cyber fraud can report to the National Cybercrime Helpline 1930 or send symptoms via WhatsApp at 8712672222 to the tern for Telangana cyber fraud.
