This stunning film on Tubi blew me up-and stream me now before it goes

I love strange and unconventional films. I went to “holy engines” and thought it was one of these slow, artistic French films to only pretend to understand people. Instead, I got a total Melter melter.

Star Denis Lavant manages to lead a dozen different life in one night in this fever dream of a film, and somehow feel real. In a minute he is a movement-related actor in a skin-tight suit, in the next channel-in apartment that eats flowers and licks people.

There is a sedan, a strange accordion break, a Kylie Minogue music number and absolutely no explanation for it. And for all of these and more reasons it couldn't be cooler.

It sounds like chaos and it is – but it is also strangely emotional and somehow beautiful. You won't quite understand it (nobody does it), but you will feel it. If you are interested in films that you question reality a little, “Holy Motors” is a journey that is worth being undertaken. And stream for a very short time on Tubi before it is removed. So if you want to check it, you don't have much time.

What is 'holy engines' about?

Monsieur Oscar (Lavant) is a mysterious man who spends his day driving in a white limousine in Paris and taking over a number of completely different “tasks”. Every stop transforms it into a new character. This could be a dying father, a beggar, a killer, a sewage monster or something. All completely with make -up, costume and a new identity.

Oscar throws himself into every role in every role in every role. However, he does not act. He lives this life, one one after the other, without a break in between, if you can believe it.

Pay attention

In a minute, Oscar stabbed a man in a suit; The closest to the next he consoles a dying daughter; Then he is a wild -eyed troll that eats flowers and kidnaps models.

There is no explanation for who he is or why he does it and you shouldn't really look for one in the film. His driver gives him quiet tasks, but nobody ever asks questions. The world around him just rolls with it. Even if it makes no sense, which is often, everyone still seems to be in peace with what happens on the screen.

You start asking yourself: Is he an actor? A puppet? Is that all for the entertainment of someone? Or is it just as it exists and constantly becomes someone else because it is too much to stay yourself?

In the end, “Holy Motors” is hard on his true intentions. It leaves only a strange, persistent feeling that the performance is the only thing that keeps Oscar (and the rest of us).

Why should you stream 'holy engines'

You should stream “holy engines” because there is really nothing comparable, and Lavant gives one of the craziest and most committed performances that you will ever see.

He doesn't just play one character. He plays like 10, in a row, without a second to breathe. And somehow everyone feels totally real. You stop trying to find out what's going on and are simply drawn for the trip. That alone is catching yourself before it is no longer available to check for free.

It's strange, yes. But it is the kind of strange that stays with you. Lavant goes in and it is clear that it is all -encompassing: physical, emotional, everything, and forgot that you can see a performance at all. That does it so well. As soon as you have seen “holy engines”, you will understand why people don't keep their flap.

But if you don't want to miss it, you have to act quickly because it should leave Tubi soon. It becomes even more difficult to stream.
