More floods, landslides in South Korea increase the number of fatalities

The precipitation will probably stop and follow a heat wave on Sunday, said the state weather forecast on Sunday. The strong rainfall, which had previously whipped southern parts of South Korea, moved north overnight, it said.

In Sancheong County in the southeastern part of the country, the film material made of excavator provided by Gyeongsangnam-Do fire brigade, which had flooded a village after a landslide.

Reuters was able to check the location of the film material independently.

The violent rains that started on Friday (July 18) in Sanchong left at least six deaths, two seriously injured and seven missing, reported the local authorities.
