M60 traffic routing route as “incident” leaves the highway near Heaton Park closed

The closure takes place when the OASIS is preparing to carry out its last Manchester appearance in the park

Due to a serious incident, the M60 is closed in both directions this evening (Sunday, July 20).

Due to the incident that has taken place on Junction 20 (alkontone exchange), the road is concluded on the traffic between Junction 19 and Junction 21.

The closure was first reported shortly before 5 p.m.

Oasis fans who travel to Manchester's final performance in Heaton Park is recommended to take additional time into their trips.

A national spokesman for the motorways said: “The M60 in Greater Manchester is closed in both directions between J19 Rhodes Interchange (Middleton, Manchester (CEN) A576) and J21 Broadway exchange (Chadderton A663).

“This can be attributed to a serious incident that occurred in the J20 alkrington exchange (Blackley, Moston A664).

“The police from Greater Manchester leads the reaction to the incident and it is expected that the road will be closed for a lengthy period of time.

“The North West Ambulance Service also took part in the incident.

“National Highways Traffic Officers are present and support traffic management.”

Clockwise – Follow the route marked with a solid triangular symbol on local street signs. Bend to the east from A576/A6104 JCT in A6104. At A6104/A663 JCT Links in A663 to the north at A663/M60 JCT 21 in the Zeichersinstalchung -Lip Road JCT and step back M60 in clockwise.

Against clockwise – Follow the route marked with a fixed square symbol on the local street signs: Leave M60 against JCT 21 against M60 JCT 21/SEMPLE JCT, turn right on Semple Way.
