Eastender's spoiler: Great character that returns to the series 22 years after the official exit to the series

Eastenders Star Nicholas Bailey returns to the BBC series after 11 years and repeats his role from Dr. Anthony Trueman.

Bailey last appeared in the soap in 2014 when Anthony's father Patrick (Rudolph Walker) suffered a stroke – but later this year he will return to Yolande (Angela Wynter) for his father's wedding.

The actor made his debut as Albert Square Doctor in December 2000 and left in 2003. He briefly returned in 2004, 2005 and 2014.

Bailey said Eastenders“, Add: I am full of thanks to get the opportunity to visit Anthony's character again.” The actor described his reunion on the screen with walker as “wonderful”.

“He is such a large part of my trip as an actor and I loved to film my first scenes with him after so long,” continued Bailey.

“I am excited to see what the course of time has done to Anthony and explore his relationship with Patrick in this stage in her life.”

The BBC has confirmed that Bailey has already started to film its scenes that will be broadcast later this summer.

One of the greatest strands of action in the character included an on-off relationship with Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), with Anthony being an affair with Kat's daughter Zoe (Michelle Ryan).

Zoe returned to the soap in June after 20 years, with the actor Ryan explained it for “the right time” to repeat the role again.

Ryan said the BBC: “I had already thought about a return because I had met Kacey Ainsworth (Little Mo) and Kim Medcalf (Sam Mitchell), and we remembered our beautiful memories of the show – and I also followed on social media and saw that there was still a lot of love for character.”

Ryan attributed the arrival of Executive Producer Ben Wadey to return because he “wanted to explore the potential of a comeback for Zoe.

“He was such a massive fan of Zoe and the Slatters, so our two worlds were geared at the right time, and I am so excited to be back.”

Wadey said: “Before I even entered the role, Zoe Slater was on my wish list of the returnees, although we have not seen her on the screen for 20 years, exceeded her figure over time due to her popular storylines.”
