2025 British Open money bag: Payout attribution, winning share

Scottie Scheffler is the Open Championship -leader and 18 holes from his first Claret jug. This would make another massive salary check.

Scheffler, 14 under par, leads the Open Championship 2025 in Royal Portrush through 54 holes, which gives him a 4-shot lead over Haotong Li (10 under) and five-shot edge via Matt Fitzpatrick (nine under). Four more, including Rory McIlroy, are six under par.

While Scheffler, the world No. 1, is the favorite on Sunday, the one will receive, whoever wins, a profit check in the amount of 3.1 million US dollars from the 17 million dollars will receive money exchange. Both numbers are what R&A awarded at last year.

The open championship usually has the lowest wallet of the four majors. At the beginning of this year, the Masters offered 21 million US dollars (4.2 million US dollars), the PGA championship 19 million US dollars (3.42 million US dollars) and the US dollar for $ 21.5 million (4.3 million dollars).

The top 10 professionals (plus ties), which did not make the open championship shortening, receive $ 12,350 each, the next 10 and ties receive $ 10,300 each. The remaining professionals each receive $ 8,750.
