Claire Sweeney from Coronation Street admits that I was broken before I made a soap decision

Claire Sweeney's first big acting role came in 1991 when she landed a role on Sendel 4 soaps Brookside before she later appeared in the celebrity Street Big Brother and Coronation

Claire Sweeney, Star of Coronation Street, announced that she was broken after making the difficult decision to move away from a large television role.

In 1991, when she was only 20 years old, Claire took her first steps in her acting career and played a role that Lindsey Corkhill played in the then extremely popular broadcaster Brookside.

During a conversation about the Hope Clinic Podcast of Speakmans' Hope Clinic, Claire said, Claire said: “I was literally with a broken heart. And I decided to have six years in Brookside.

After she had come to the realization that it was now or never if she wanted to pursue a career on stage, she remembered how her next step was to go to her boss in Brookside, Phil Redmond, and to tell him: “Phil, I have to follow my dream and my audition for musicals. I have to go.”

Although she had no work in Brookside after her time, she said that she “exploded” on the back of her stay in the celebrity Big Brother.

After her time in the reality TV show, she soon saw an influx of roles, including the challenge of a life on ITV, an opportunity to make her own album, and hard in the popular American musical chicago.

Since then she has returned to the stage several times, with adjustments to Snow White and Aladdin. In the meantime, she played Miss Adelaide in the British production of boys and dolls in 2006.

In recent times, after a role in the Coronation Street, she had a large career moment in 2023.

Over the past two years, Corrie fans have seen their figure Cassie Plummer in the heart of the action.

In one of her latest storylines in the soap, the fans saw their over-medication Corrie legend Ken Barlow to ensure that he remains dependent on her as his supervisor.

Apart from her acting career, she will try her luck in the latest episode of the Celebrity key tonight, where she will test her knowledge against the accident actor Mark Bonnar and the former X -Factor winner Alexandra Burke.

The celebrity key will be broadcast on ITV at 7 p.m. this evening (July 20).
