Royals turn to Kris Bubic to avert Sweep against Marlins

Royals turn to Kris Bubic to avert Sweep against Marlins

Matt Quatraro, manager of Kansas City Royals, feels the feeling of urgency.

The Royals who will try to avoid a series with three games in the Miami Marlins on Sunday went 7: 3 in their last 10 competitions before the All Star break.

“We have to be more consistent for the small things – move, move runners, support bases,” said Quatraro. “These are things that don't appear on the box.

“We have to play harder. We have to be more responsible for our teammates.”

The Royals will start the left-hander Kris Bubic, who became all-star for the first time on Sunday.

Bubic (7-6, 2.48 ERA) is significantly improved. Last year he had a three-pitch mix while working exclusively for relief.

This year Bubic has two types of fastballs, two sliders and one change. His fastball speed is not overwhelming -92 to 93 miles per hour -but he has improved command.

This explains why Bubic made so great progress of a pitcher that was 9-27 with an ERA of 4.99 as a starter this year.

Bubic, who has not yet been placed on the Marlins in his career, has also improved compared to left -handed people. Last year they had an OPS of 0.701 against him. This year this number is 0.615.

The royals are aggressively listed by All-Star-Shortstop Bobby Witt Jr., who meets in July .321.

Another Royals player who can be seen is the rookie outfield John Rave, who worked his first two Homers of the Major-League on Friday.

Although Rave has to struggle overall this season, Quatraro was encouraged.

“We consider him an all-round player,” said Quatraro about Rave. “The results were not there, but that is part of the maturation (process) of a large leader.”

In the meantime, the Marlins-Die will start in their last 31 games 21-10 SEN-REFESTHESDER JANSON JUNK (4-1, 2.68).

Junk only confronted the Royals once and went 1-0 with eight strikes over five goalless Innings in a 4-0 win in 2022 when he played for the Los Angeles Angels.

He is on his fourth MLB franchise. He had a 1-3 record this season. The Marlins are 5: 1 in Junk's last six appearances.

The Marlins are looking for great things for great things by the 27-year-old right field player Jesus Sanchez, who is with the marlins in his sixth season.

“I think Sanchez will have a big second half,” said Marlin's rookie manager Clayton McCullough.

There are some historical evidence on the side of McCullough's statement. For example, Sanchez has an OPS .717 ops in 328 career games in the first half. In the second half in the second half, he has an OPS of 0.793.

Miami's other outfield is all-star Kyle Stowers, who has been the hottest bat in baseball lately.

In his two games before Saturday, Stowers had eight goals, five Homer and 11 RBIs. He has been the first player in exactly 100 years of Ty Cobb-, who produces at least these numbers in a distance of two games. Stowers also leads the majors this year with three walk-off hits.
