Kelso: Sainsbury's green light for Timpsons in the parking lot


A planning application by Sainsbury's Supermarkets LTD for the building permit for the construction of a new retail concession pod in his Kelso superstor was rubberized by the Scottish Borders Council.

The proposal is for the construction of a small retail business in the Sainsbury parking lot west of the grocery store in Lee Forbes Way on the Pinnaclehill Industrial Estate.

The area is currently used as parking spaces, four of which are removed to make room for the proposed Timpson concessions -Pod, offer the company a number of services, including important cutting, locksmith, watch jewelry and shoe repairs, engraving and more.

The Kelso Community Council gave its approval for the application.

In a report with the application it says: “The addition of a Timpson concession -POD in the food store offers additional facilities for existing customers, so that when shopping in shopping in shopping in the shop, you are accessible to dry cleaning, key cutting, engraving and watches.

“Similar service confession systems are well established in similar grocery stores across Great Britain.”
