Melvindale comes together to honor one year after death

Melvindale, me. (Wxyz) – The community came together in Melvindale on Sunday to honor a fallen hero. Monday marked a year since corporal Mohamed said that he had been shot down. The death of the young police officer and the search for his alleged murderer shook the community into the core.

“I got the call, I was at home and did things,” said the boss. “I'm on site, it was total chaos, just a dream, you don't think it actually happened.”

The suspect led on a chase in Melvindale, which ended tragically with a deadly firing wound.

Said was only 26 years old.

Ahmed said that a Melvindale prescription officer was also the brother of Saken.
