Ron Manfred defends Jacob Misiorowski's all-star selection

The baseball commissioner Rob Manfred defended his decision on Tuesday to add Milwaukee Brewers Rookie Rookt-Hander Jacob Misiorowski to the All-Star game despite the criticism of the selection.

Misiorowski has set up in just five games, a record low for an all-star who created a debate between those who say that the game is for the most deserved players and those who say that the game is for fans.

Manfred said that he made the decision based on “the excitement that is generated, the interest of the fans to see this guy” and added a competitive pitcher to the game.

“He is currently a very, very good jug in a very, very good run,” said Manfred of the baseball Writers' Association of America. “Do I understand that five starts are short? Yes, I do that. And do I want to do that? No, I don't. But I think it was the right decision where we were.”

The 23 -year -old Misiorowski created an immediate stream league when he threw a fastball of 100.5 miles per hour for his first place in the big leagues. Oh, and for a good measure, he opened this debut on June 12 against St. Louis by thrown five no-hit inside before leaving cramps in the 6-0 win of the Brewers.

The 6-foot 7-rookie is 4-1 with an ERA of 2.81 and has 33 strikeouts and only 12 hits in 25⅔ Innerings. It is an impressive debut, but some players still believe that the right-handed man was not long enough to earn all-star considerations about more established players.

However, not everyone feels like that.

“If it draws excitement and attention to our game, then I'm all about it,” said Dave Roberts, manager of Los Angeles Dodgers, the Skipper of the National League All-Stars, on Monday evening.

Misiorowski said he was not offended by the criticism, especially by Philadelphias Trea Turner.

“You are not upset about me,” said Misiorowski, who added that he was just as surprised as anyone to find himself in Atlanta for the game on Tuesday evening. “The last five weeks were crazy. I thought the all-star break would be an opportunity to sit down and think. Now we are here.”
